Church Planters

HCPN is committed to strengthening church planters through different training and developmental opportunities. Healthy church planters are exponentially more likely to establish healthy new churches that multiply other healthy churches. Our heart is to raise up healthy multiplying leaders, from the city, for the city.

Planter Development

HCPN offers a wide variety of training programs for both prospective and current church planters. Varying training platforms have been developed including two different church planting residencies. Church planting residencies prepare leaders to plant strong and healthy churches. They are experiential learning environments designed to produce holistically-prepared leaders who are part of a city-wide movement of God’s Kingdom throughout Houston. You can find a description of each of the planter development tracks below.

FOUNDATIONAL

A 9 month training program designed to strengthen the core competencies of church planters. Planters are also encouraged to be deeply involved in a local church where they have hands on ministry and leadership opportunities.

FINISHING

A 9 month residency program designed for those who are about a year from launching a new church and have a proven track record of leadership.

FORTIFYING

Fortifying cohorts are designed for HCPN pastors and church planters who are daily navigating the challenges of becoming a sustainable church moving towards growth and multiplication.

The residency has been life changing. Most importantly, I have been challenged and equipped to love and enjoy God more fully. Simultaneously, I have been given tools that are invaluable in leading Seven Mile Road. My ability to care for my people while casting a compelling vision has been strengthened in a way that will pay dividends for the rest of my life. I am so grateful to God for this experience and will continue to support it and recommend it to anyone considering church planting.

Jeremiah MorrisSeven Mile Road, Class 2015-2016

The HCPN finishing residency for me was life-changing. The training, connections to local pastors, and most importantly, the soul care provided to us through various means benefitted both my own personal walk with Jesus, my wife, and our church plant. I believe God is doing a unique work in Houston and HCPN is very evidently a huge instrument in this work, and I have been extremely privileged to be part of it via this finishing residency. The relationships I gained with my fellow residents is also something I cherish. I'm looking forward to many years of faithful ministry alongside these brothers and dear friends of mine! May the Lamb receive the full reward for His suffering in Houston!

Carlos RebollarTrinity East End, Class 2017-2018

HCPN finishing residency has been such a life-changing experience for me. Before I found HCPN, my wife and I had prayed and fasted for forty days. Our prayer was that the Lord would connect us with the people whose desire is to grow the Kingdom of God. God connected us to HCPN. These twelve months of residency have been a season of connection not only with our cohort, but to the local pastors and ministers of the Gospel, and more importantly a time for a personal renewal of my walk with the Lord. The training by a variety of Pastors and church leaders with different ministry backgrounds has been a huge blessing to me, my family and our core team. I am forever thankful to God for HCPN and I am humbled to be a part of what God is doing here in Greater Houston through HCPN.
