What is Awaken Houston?

Awaken Houston is a city-wide movement to unify the church to pray and fast for personal renewal, revival in our churches, and an awakening throughout Greater Houston.

Where is Awaken Houston?

This journey of prayer and fasting will take place wherever you are located day-in and day-out.

Who is Awaken Houston for?

This is for any Jesus follower willing to pray with others throughout Houston, fasting as God leads, through the Lenten season: March 5-April 20.

What is fasting?

Christian fasting means privately and occasionally choosing to go without food for some special period of time in view of some specific spiritual purpose. (View more resources below.)

1. Please email us to let us know that your church will be joining with other churches across Houston for our season of prayer. The only commitment is praying and as able mobilizing your church to pray.
2. There will be daily devotionals written by spiritual leaders from around the city through the Lenten season: March 5-April 20, 2025 which will be available here prior to our time of prayer. Follow along on our Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
3. Encourage and mobilize people to personally engage in the ways included below: “How Can I Be Involved?”

2. Read and pray through the devotionals.

Calling everyone to fast throughout the week while feasting on Sundays in preparation for the joy of Easter.

Starting on March 5, 2025 daily devos written by spiritual leaders from around the city. Leading up to the Sunday message each week the devos link into the theme. So first several writing about the theme “NO ONE IS TOO FAR AWAY”. As we are calling 100,000 to pray for 1,000 baptisms we are encouraging our people that no one is too far away. The following week we are encouraging the 100,000 people praying that the dead are raised “IN RESPONSE TO FAITH FILLED REQUESTS”. And so forth…

Churches plan for baptism Sundays in April, and report back what they experience so that all the participating churches are able to celebrate what God is doing in communities all across the city.
